Job Opening: Dog Control Officer – Town of Mount Hope Police Department
The Town of Mount Hope Police Department is seeking a responsible and dedicated individual to serve as a Dog Control Officer.
Position Details:
• Pay Rate: $20 per hour
• Hours: 8 hours per week
• Location: Town of Mount Hope
• Operates under the direction of Police Chief
Responsibilities:
• Respond to complaints about stray, lost, or nuisance dogs.
• Enforce local and state dog control laws.
• Safely capture and remove stray, uncontrolled or abused dogs.
• Work with pet owners to ensure compliance with licensing and leash laws.
• Coordinate with shelters and veterinary services when needed.
• Investigate reports of attacks or cruelty and write reports.
• Issue warnings or citations in connection with dog-related offenses.
• Answer inquiries from the public concerning dog control operations.
Requirements:
• Experience handling animals is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and respond to calls as needed.
